An Innumerable Company of Angels 17 OCT 07

AN INNUMERABLE COMPANY OF ANGELS

HEBREWS 12:22

22

But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

COMMENTARY

Only the saved have guardian angels.

GENESIS 18:01-15

1

And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

2

And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,

3

And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:

4

Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:

5

And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.

6

And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.

7

And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetched a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.

8

And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.

9

And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.

10

And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.

11

Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.

12

Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?

13

And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?

14

Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

15

Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.

COMMENTARY

3 men came, 2 were angels, 1 was the son of God.

DEUT 6:04

4

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

COMMENTARY

Easiest way to understand the Godhead is in Matthew 28.

MATT 28:19

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

COMMENTARY

When people baptize in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, they are not baptizing in the NAME of all of those 3, who is Jesus.
The Father the Son and the Holy Spirit are just titles/offices. One God fulfill all three roles.

ISAIAH 9:06

6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

COMMENTARY

Half of this scripture isn’t fulfilled yet.

MATTHEW 1:21

21

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins

COMMENTARY

Jesus is the saving name.

ISAIAH 61:01-03

1

The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2

To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

3

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

LUKE 4:16-22

16

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

17

And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19

To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20

And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

21

And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

22

And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

COMMENTARY

Saving time is limited.

Jesus is now the savior but he will come back to execute his wrath.

PETER 1:10-12

10

Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

11

Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

12

Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

COMMENTARY

God was going to make Jews and Gentiles 1.
God never mentioned the church and kept it a mystery.
Angels stoop in and listen to what the Church is preaching.
Angels are everlasting.
Angels are buzzing about the church because Jesus died for us.

ABRAHAM THE CITY SEEKER - 14 OCT 07

Hebrews 11:08-11

8

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

9

By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

10

For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

11

Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

Hebrews 12:14

14

For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

Commentary

  • Our homes aren’t are final resting spot so don’t get so comfortable.
  • All of this is saying God is not laying charges against you.
  • Abraham was the first example of those that went from-to.

Genesis 11:26

26

And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

27

Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.

28

And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

29

And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.

30

But Sarai was barren; she had no child.

31

And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

32

And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.

History of
Abraham

Genesis 12:01,04

1

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee:

4

So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

Commentary

  • God called Abram and Sarai, later to be known as Abraham and Sarah and called them to go to Canaan.
  • The name Heron means “halt or delayed”. This is a spiritual picture that points out that God starts the trip and stops along the way to rest.

Romans 8:28-34

28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

29

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

31

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth?

34

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died? yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Commentary

  • God knew you before you were born and picked you out before you were born.
  • He had to wait till you born in order for him to call you way back in the dateless past.

Romans 4:05

5

But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Commentary

  • You’re in the process of being Justified but the process is already finished.

Into the City of The Living God - 30 SEP 07

Gen 4:16-17

16 And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch

Jeremiah 4:23

23

I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

24

I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.

25

I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.

26

I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.

Matthew 4:08-9

8

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9

And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Commentary

  • First person to commit a murder was also first to make first city
  • The foundation of a city was built on fear because it required a watch or wall.
  • There was a recreation in Gen 1:03
  • Adam was not the first man
  • Sin and death caused the first city
  • When Satan showed Jesus all the kingdoms of this world he showed him all the cities.
